Based at the Rondebosch Chiropractic Centre and in Hout Bay, Cape Town, Social Wellness provides specialised massage for people with pain, tension, overuse injuries, training load, fatigue or movement restrictions. Whether you are a professional athlete, a weekend warrior, someone starting your strength journey or simply feeling physically overwhelmed, you are welcome here.
I have been a qualified biokineticist for 16 years. I delivered over 7 000 massages and created thousands of individualized exercise programs during this time. Over the years I have come to enjoy working with trigger point release, muscle spasms, pain management, tension headaches and the patterns that develop when the body compensates or protects itself.
My treatment approach is clinical and intuitive. I follow what your body shows me and tailor the session to your goals for the day. Some people want clarity and conversation. Others prefer quiet and grounding. Both are welcome.
You are free to ask me anything during your session. Many clients choose to talk through their injuries, training habits, pain patterns or goals for strength and longevity. My background includes strength training, behaviour change, biomechanics and longevity science, and I enjoy helping people understand how their bodies work and how to support long term physical health.
What I Offer
• Clinical and therapeutic massage for pain, tension, nervous system regulation and movement limitation, or simply just a deep massage to relax.
• Sessions from 30 minutes to 2 hours
• A 5 hour “Half Day Deep Dive” for complex cases or clients who want more time and clarity
• Guidance on movement, strength training, recovery and longevity, only if you want it
• A calm and grounded environment where your needs direct the session
Strength and Longevity Expertise
Alongside hands on work, I have a growing body of education and writing focused on strength training and healthy ageing. My areas of interest include:
• minimum effective dose strength training
• longevity protocols based on current evidence
• sprint interval training
• resistance training principles
• Pilates and yoga for mobility and control
• nervous system regulation
• sustainable habits for people who feel overwhelmed or unsure where to start
I have written two books, one on strength training for longevity and one on the practical science of healthy ageing. These resources form the foundation of the workshops and educational sessions I will offer. They are designed to help beginners and intermediates understand what to do, why it matters and how to build habits that last.
This knowledge is always available for questions during your session.
Giving Back
A portion of every session is donated to two organisations that support survivors of human trafficking and exploitation. This is a deeply important part of Social Wellness and the values behind my work.
