My name is Shannon. I am a Biokineticist, massage therapist and strength and longevity educator. I have spent 21 years working with real people in real bodies, first as a fitness instructor while studying and then as a practising Biokineticist for the past 16 years. My work is driven by a deep love of helping people move better, feel better and understand their bodies with more clarity and confidence.
My approach blends hands on skill, scientific understanding and genuine empathy. I work with clients who experience pain, muscle tension, stiffness, movement limitations or long standing patterns that need attention. I enjoy helping people understand not only what hurts, but why it hurts, what the underlying patterns are and how their beliefs about their body influence how they move and recover. I care deeply about helping people feel seen, supported and understood.
Over the years I have created thousands of individual workouts and provided more than 7 000 massages for an incredibly wide range of clients. These have included professional athletes, complete beginners, active 85 year olds, people in severe chronic pain, children, clients with depression or migraines, individuals with spinal fusions or vertebral cement procedures, clients with cerebral palsy, and people simply wanting maintenance and support. Working with so many different bodies, personalities and levels of motivation has given me a deep understanding of how people change, why they struggle, what helps them progress and what makes health feel achievable.
My background includes a BSc in Sport Science and an Honours degree in Biokinetics, followed by many years of practice in movement, pain, strength and behaviour change. I continue to study the research on longevity, biomechanics, nervous system regulation and the minimum effective dose of what actually helps people age well.
Alongside my hands on work, I am passionate about education. I write extensively on strength training and healthy ageing, including two books that will be published soon. These books focus on the practical science behind maintaining independence and physical capacity into your 70s, 80s and 90s. Much of my writing explores what the research consistently shows makes the greatest long term difference for health, strength and wellbeing.
I have developed a weekly and twice monthly plan that combines breath work, sleep quality, gratitude practices, strength training, high intensity interval work, sprint interval training, mobility, balance training and simple daily habits. This model is built on minimum effective dose principles and is designed to be realistic and sustainable. I follow this approach in my own life as a single mother, because I understand time limitations and want people to feel that better health is possible without requiring hours each day. Everyone is individual though, and my intention is to offer guidance, not prescriptions.
I also teach workshops on strength training, why muscle matters and how to build confidence in the gym. On the Insights page of this website I share case studies, ideas, techniques and personal examples to help make health and strength more relatable and achievable. My aim is to empower people with knowledge, clarity and tools they can use in their real lives.
If you would like more ideas or inspiration, you are welcome to follow along on Instagram where I share my own workouts, simple habits, and practical tools for people who want to build healthier, stronger lives. I try to offer as many resources as possible so that people feel supported and capable of making meaningful changes.
I care deeply about this work. My goal is to help people feel more at home in their bodies, to move with confidence and ease, and to build the strength and resilience needed for a long and independent life.
